New analysis displays Milky Method a decidedly ‘warped” spiral – Astronomy Now
Using better than a thousand Cepheid variable stars as distance and place markers, a world group of astronomers have produced a 3D map of the Milky Method, exhibiting it is not a flat spiral similar to the acquainted Andromeda galaxy.
